Over the past months, I have gained hands-on experience in workshop facilitation in both international policy and field-based development contexts, spanning Berlin and Phnom Penh. Through the EU-German CAPSAFE project implemented by GIZ Cambodia, I co-facilitated a consultative stakeholder workshop in Phnom Penh with representatives from the Cambodian Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, international organisations such as FAO, universities, and development partners. The workshop was a key milestone in advancing inclusive and climate-resilient value chains for cashew and pepper, creating space for open dialogue on climate risks, farmer preparedness, climate-resilient practices, value addition, gender inclusion, and collaboration across institutions. Facilitating these discussions highlighted the importance of participatory, well-structured processes to align diverse perspectives and translate research into actionable pathways.
In parallel, I supported workshop design and moderation in a global policy setting in Berlin during the Forum on Global Cooperation, co-hosted by the Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung and Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. As part of the SLE 63rd cohort, I helped conceptualise, organise, and moderate three Deep Dive sessions addressing development finance, international climate cooperation, and the future of humanitarian aid. These sessions bridged academic insight and real-world policy debate, fostering critical reflection among practitioners, researchers, and decision-makers. Across both contexts, this experience strengthened my skills in participatory facilitation, stakeholder engagement, and guiding complex discussions toward constructive, solution-oriented outcomes.
